A Message from The President

The Junior League began in 1901 with a simple yet powerful idea: that women, when they come together, can strengthen their communities and support one another in meaningful ways. At just 19 years old, Mary Harriman Rumsey invited a small group of women in New York City to volunteer their time helping families in need. What she created was more than an organization—it was a place of connection, growth, and belonging.

As Junior Leagues formed across the country, that same spirit took root. Members stepped forward to support education, public health, and children and families, while also building lasting friendships and a shared sense of purpose. For generations, the Junior League has empowered women to find their voices, develop confidence, and realize the impact they can make together.

That spirit came to the Emerald Coast in 1964, when five local women united around a desire to serve and connect within their community. Officially chartered the following year, the Junior League of the Emerald Coast quickly became known for its hands-on projects and strong partnerships focused on supporting local children and families. Those early efforts laid the foundation for decades of service and leadership.

Today, the Junior League of the Emerald Coast continues that proud legacy. We are a community where women come just as they are—to learn, to lead, to serve, and to support one another. Each member plays an important role in shaping our impact, and together we are writing the next chapter of service, friendship, and community engagement.

It is an honor to serve as president of this incredible organization, and I am grateful for the passion, dedication, and heart our members bring to everything they do. We invite you to learn more about our work and join us as we continue to make a lasting difference along the Emerald Coast.
